WHAT IS PRAYOSHA?
The Prayosha Foundation is the brainchild of Meena and Hetal Patel, who conceptualized the idea in 2016. The thought was around supporting a girl-child. Little did we realize the impact we will have in a short amount of time, that the moment had arrived to form the organization and give it a name. “Prayosha” is born – Non-profit, started in February 2018, the goal is simply to empower women. Our target population is socially and economically disadvantaged girls, who we refer to “Angels”, between the age of 10-22.
The organization is named after our first Angel – Prayosha, who is an inspiration to every member of the family for a better tomorrow. She is an epitome of a woman ready to take the leap of faith given proper education and mentoring.
Prayosha provides education, programs, and services that meet the needs and challenges of socially and economically disadvantaged Angels and prepares them for personal, career, and economic success.

Prayosha’s Mission is to educate and empower socially and economically disadvantaged girls to make healthy choices in every aspect of their lives.
This includes not only the financial assistance the organization provides for education, but programs that are offered to these young women to encourage personal growth and development, such as one-on-one and group mentoring, workshops, and career development programs. Through providing these programs, Prayosha Foundation will ensure that underserved young women in India will have the resources to make healthy choices in order to have successful, fulfilling lives.
Prayosha Foundation will conduct the educational programs for the recipient young women throughout the year. One such program will be a conference that will offer educational programs such as workshops, career counseling, mentoring, and the opportunity to network with notable women. The organization will also facilitate workshops which will cover topics concerning success, positive decision-making, life skills, career choices, goal-setting, healthy relationships, and other topics covering the transition from adolescence to adulthood. PF will offer leadership training to empower and educate young women on subjects such as entrepreneurship, careers, workforce readiness, and other similar subjects. By offering these educational programs, Prayosha Foundation will provide young women in India access to opportunities and resources that will give them the power to control their own lives, make their own choices, and influence social change both nationally and internationally.
